Suggested Activities: Pass it On

• Ask your mayor and/or your governor to sign a proclamation declaring the week of April 11 - 18, 2010, as Holocaust Remembrance Week. Then, ask city/state employees to participate.
• Attend a school board meeting, a city council meeting, etc., to ask elected officials to wear paperclips with you.
• Write to your state and national legislators to ask them to wear paperclips with you.
• Provide information and paperclips to teachers to distribute to students who want to participate.
• Ask students to take the information home to ask family members to participate. Ask family members to ask co-workers to participate.
• Ask your church to print an announcement in its weekly bulletin to encourage members of the congregation to participate.

I believe that...

every person has worth as an individual

every person is entitled to dignity and respect

every hate crime or act of prejudice, discrimination, or bigotry causes damage

the victims of hate crimes, including acts of terrorism, deserve to be remembered

our troops serving in Iraq deserve our support

Therefore, from this day forward, I will do my part to promote equality and solidarity and to denounce hate crimes, prejudice, and discrimination.

I will treat all people with dignity and respect and will encourage Americans to "bind together" for this purpose.
